The Global Foundation for Sustainable Community Development (GFSCode) is a women-led, non-profit organization registered in Kenya in 2024 that advances women's rights and empowerment, youth development, child wellbeing, and resilient communities through locally led, integrated development. The Foundation addresses the interconnected challenges of gender inequality, poverty, food insecurity, malnutrition, unemployment, limited livelihood opportunities, unequal access to quality education and healthcare, inadequate water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services, social exclusion, and conflict. Through sustainable, evidence-based and community-driven programmes, GFSCD strengthens local capacity, promotes equity and inclusion, and improves the wellbeing and resilience of women, young people, children, and vulnerable communities across Kenya.
GFSCD delivers integrated programmes in education; school feeding and nutrition; health; sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); peacebuilding and social cohesion; and sports for peace and development. By adopting a holistic approach, the Foundation addresses the root causes of vulnerability while expanding access to essential services, strengthening local systems, improving food and nutrition security, creating economic opportunities, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering peaceful, resilient, and inclusive communities.
